Sumit S Jamuar is the co-Founder, Chairman & CEO of Global Gene Corp (GGC), a genomics data, insights, and applications company that is democratizing healthcare through genomics by mapping and organizing the world’s genomic diversity, overcoming the bias that 80% of all existing genomic data come from people of European ancestry. 
Winner of Roddenberry Prize 2020, Global Gene Corp has been profiled by TED Talks hosted by Bollywood Megastar Shah Rukh Khan “The future of health care is accessible, diverse and genetically personalized”, TEDxRoma “Human Genome to Global Genome”, CGTN’s Razor documentary on “Genome Diversity”, BBC, “The power of a billion: India’s genomic revolution”, Financial Times, “When biased data holds a fatal flaw”, MIT Technology Review “Taking Genomic Data Global”, and selected as “The Next Big Thing” by Cambridge Network and other recognitions by Moonshot for Life and Innovator News.
Sumit previously served as a Managing Director & Global Head at Lloyds Bank in UK, and CEO at SBICAP (UK), the European Investment banking subsidiary of State Bank of India. He has also served as a consultant with McKinsey & Company.
He serves as member of UK BIA’s Genomic Advisory Committee, Scientific Advisory Board of CINECA – an EU Horizon 2020 funded programme, to deliver Common Infrastructure for National Cohorts in Europe, Canada and Africa – and as a Senior Associate of the Royal Society of Medicine. He has previously served on the World Economic Forum’s Global Precision Medicine Council, as Vice-Chair of the United Nation’s ITU – Gates Foundation focus group on Digital Financial Services for Financial Inclusion, Fellow of Institute of Directors (IoD), Member of BAFT-IFSA European Council and Board Director at GEFCO plc.
He holds a Bachelors’ degree in Chemical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Delhi and an MBA from INSEAD.
