During more than three decades in the supply chain field – as the former Chairman and CEO of DSC Logistics and with involvement in industry organizations – I have come to see supply management as a powerful strategic capability organizations can use to their advantage and in their role assisting supply chain partners to achieve business success. I’ve also seen first-hand the strength of women leaders in supply chain and how they are transforming their organizations. The world needs the leadership of these women – not just in supply chain but throughout all sectors – to solve problems, address challenges, and bring innovative thinking to the forefront.

In 2013, shortly after I received the honor of being the first women to ever receive the Distinguished Service Award from the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP) in the award’s 47-year history, I launched AWESOME – Achieving Women’s Excellence in Supply Chain Operations, Management and Education). The community has now grown to include more than 1500 women in diverse supply chain leadership roles.

Seeking additional ways to advance the influence and contributions of women in business, supply chain, engineering/technology, infrastructure/design, and space, I founded Lincoln Road Enterprises in 2019.
As a strong believer in collaboration as the key to problem-solving and transformation in any area, I support and am involved with organizations who have similar goals, including serving on the Kellogg School Global Advisory Board at Northwestern University, the Civic Committee Transportation Task Force of the Commercial Club of Chicago, the Executive Committee of the Board of Trustees of Chicago’s Museum of Science and Industry, and the Boards of Trustees of the Chicago Architectural Center and the New World Symphony of Miami. I’m also an active member of the Committee of 200 (C200), International Women’s Forum (IWF), The Chicago Network (TCN), and the Economic Club.

I am most appreciative of my education at the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, where I earned an MBA, and at the University of Iowa, where I earned an undergraduate degree. For me, education unlocks success in any field. When people ask if I have advice about succeeding, my answer is “Say ‘yes’ to every opportunity.”
