Kelly Chambliss is the Managing Partner of IBM Global Business
Services (GBS) North America. In this role, she leads a one of the
largest professional services organizations in North America. GBS
provides digital strategy, interactive experience, process re-
engineering, systems integration, process outsourcing, cloud
application development, and application management services across the United States and Canada. She previously led the Distribution and Industrial Markets in GBS North America, which included the Retail, Consumer Products, Chemical & Petroleum, Industrial Products, Automotive, Aerospace & Defense, High Tech & Electronics, and Travel & Transport industries. Prior to this role, she served as the Global Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for IBM GBS, with a focus on the development, marketing, sales, and delivery of cloud-based solutions in areas such as Internet of Things (IoT), Customer Engagement, and Advanced Analytics. She also previously led Application Innovation Services and the Retail Industry within GBS North America.
Kelly joined IBM in late 2002 through the acquisition of PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) Consulting, where she was a Partner. She was promoted to Partner at PwC less than nine years after receiving a Bachelor of Science degree from Virginia Tech. Her experience at PwC included working in Australia for three years; leading technology-enabled programs across Asia Pacific, Europe, and North America; and serving as an application developer, application architect, and data analyst on innovative Customer Engagement, Supply Chain, and Analytics programs.
Kelly currently serves on the Performance Team in IBM, which is the senior operating group. She also served as a member of the IBM Strategy Team and the IBM Technology Team for two-year rotational assignments in 2014-2015 and 2010-2011, respectively.
Kelly serves as an Independent Director on the CoreSite Realty Corporation (NYSE: COR) Board of Directors and is a member of both the Governance and Compensation Committees. CoreSite Realty Corporation is a Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) and leading provider of high- performance data center and interconnection solutions. She also serves on the advisory board for Amicus.io, a fintech start-up that enables banks to participate in the charitable giving market.
She graduated from Virginia Tech with a degree in Management Science and a specialization in Decision Support Systems. She attended Virginia Tech on a full athletic scholarship and served as the co-captain of the volleyball team her senior year. She was also a volunteer assistant volleyball coach at the University of California at Davis in 2004, while also an executive at IBM.
Kelly was recognized by Business Insider in April 2015 as one of seventeen employees that reflect IBM’s new direction. She was also one of ten women highlighted by Fortune magazine in November 2014 as next generation Fortune 500 female talent. Consulting Magazine recognized her with a Future Leader Achievement Award in November 2010.
Kelly currently resides in Chicago, Illinois with her husband and two young children. She is a member of the Economic Club of Chicago and was formerly a delegate in the BritishAmerican Business Leadership Forum. Beyond business and technology, her interests include running and writing. She has run three marathons, including the Chicago Marathon in October 2017 as a member of the Big Shoulders Fund Racing Team.
